ARI RUDENKO BIOGRAPHY
Ari Rudenko is an interdisciplinary visual artist and performance maker originally hailing from the wild San Juan Islands in the American Pacific Northwest, now based primarily in Indonesia, and working with a trans-cultural avant-garde aesthetic and mission through their performance vehicle Fatamorgana Dancetheater. Questioning into the natural world, deep time, and the primordial stories written in the psyche, Ari explores the possible intersections of butoh theater, traditional and contemporary Southeast Asian performing arts, queer identity, ritual and shamanic practices, and an ongoing interest in the natural sciences, creating a total theater that touches the hidden treasure at the heart of the world.
After completing an undergraduate philosophy and humanities degree from Shimer College, and Shimer’s affiliate program at King’s College, Oxford University, Ari began a serious study of butoh theater, having since trained in Japan, the UK, America, and Australia with lineage masters.
In 2012, Ari was awarded a Darmasiswa Scholarship to study at the Art Institute of Indonesia in Bali, and has since worked closely with Indonesian and international artists, facilitating encounters between contemporary practice and tradition, and rigorously pursuing the potentials and complexities of cross-cultural performance making. Ari is now the final semester of a low-residency MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Goddard College, while based in Southeast Asia.
Ari directed, designed and choreographed Fatamorgana Dancetheater’s first feature performance HOLY GARDEN, a deep-dream dialog with Indonesian traditional mysticism, which ran between 2013-2015 in Indonesia, and premiered at NOHspace theater, San Francisco, in February 2016. Ari is currently developing a second feature performance, an investigation into fossil dinosaurs and the evolution of avian flight; a story of life and death that speaks to the vastness of time, the universality of desire, and limitless potential of the human body.

Tabatha Lendquvist is an Interdisciplinary artist living and working in Alabama. She currently resides in Athens with her daughter and son, Charlie and Oliver. Her body of work includes a variety of mediums and incorporates her love of mark-making and color with the intrigues of natures, literature, music, and the feminine. She teaches Design I at the University of North Alabama in Florence. Tabatha’s teaching experience is varied and rich. Her students include children, adults, and special needs, and she’s had the pleasure of teaching at both public and private institutions, as well as, public studio workshops.
What is of particular interest is her commitment to experimentation and a deepened exploration of the intricacies and power of words. There exists a poetic thread tying all her work together into a most defining expression. What calls her to Art is the need to work with her hands, however what drives her to continue working is the responsibility to initiate creative conversation and the desire to make, fashion, craft herself into being.

Lisa Kohlmeier is a musician and private music teacher who loves her job! She has been married to a working artist for 25 years and enjoys trying her hand at visual arts also. The last four years, Lisa has been honing her photography and drawing skills, processes in which she finds peace and serenity.
I have been painting and drawing since childhood. I majored in art during high school at Sheridan High in Sheridan Wyoming. I continued my education at 30 years of age at the University of Vermont 1993-1998 where I studied Psychology as a major and Studio Art and Art history as a double minor. From 1998 to 2002, I obtained a MS in Psychology. In 2010 I studied at the Art Institute of Boston at Leslie University Boston for two semesters Painting. In the spring of 2012 I studied painting at Goddard College at Fort Wordan in Washington state for one semester. Currently painting and drawing in Lake Charles Louisiana.
Torn between the sublime beauty of the landscape and the search of the true human spirit through portraiture, my recent works are a closer look into the beauty of nature and of human beings. By combining the disciplines of Psychology and Art I’ve develop paintings reflecting deeper meaning of nature and of humans.
In my work with the human subject I work from a critical perspective of the subject’s subconscious, or an attempt at such, in order to allow the viewers an experience of the subject not otherwise presented. My goal is to expose the true inner beauty of a subject in the ultimate portrait.
My work with nature can be seen as a battle between mankind and the reclamation of objects into nature. Rooted in Abstract-Expressionism and contemporary Abstract art my work depicts the moving through nature with man made objects taking a view of the non-understood environmental relations and close-ups of natural objects otherwise un-seen by a passing viewer. By finding a way to allow others to see this nature through my art as, I perceive it, is seeing the beauty in objects otherwise ignored.
The sublime can be found in a pile of beach gravel or sand. It can be seen by looking at the stems of a tropical house plant. I do this by reflecting on the sublime in nature and pushing this through color on canvass or board in an abstract-expressionism style.
My influences in the making of my work stems from the work of the following artists; Nicolas De Staël, Henri Mattise, Wassily Kandinsky, Ernst Ludwig Kirchner, Joan Snyder, John Walker, Santiago Sierra, Chuck Close, Paul Klee, Lucian Freud, Susan Rothenburg, William DeCooning, Jackson Pollok and Mark Rothko just to name a few.
